I am a full-time journalist with Middle East Eye where I have reported from remote corners of the Balkans, the deserts of Jordan and halls of Congress. My first gig was with the Jordan Times in Amman and later The Greek Reporter in Athens. After, I floated across Jordan, Greece, Lebanon and Egypt writing for The Economist, Al Jazeera, Al Monitor and others.

My passion for the Middle East stems from my Greek roots. I left for the Mediterranean fascinated by the history of my family in the Levant and accidentally stumbled upon journalism.

I have covered FinTech startups in Egypt and Christian communities in Syria. I am often asked to speak in Europe and the US about my reporting on the Eastern Mediterranean. When I’m not writing, I can talk endlessly about the subtle, and oh so beautiful differences between Arak, Ouzo and Raki (I do have a favorite).

I am also the co-founder, along with my brother, of Levendeia, a real estate and lifestyle platform on the Eastern Mediterranean. You can read more about us here.

Do contact me with story ideas and questions, but I really want Lebanese TV show suggestions. If I take some time to respond I’ve probably unplugged with a book at a Greek island hideaway or disappeared to my favorite shaabi falafel stand.
